In its second year, the Canola Fields Fondo was pedaling its way to fame among our EVCC cycling enthusiasts. The event attracted 70 adventurous souls and was determined to bloom like the canola fields it celebrated.

As the riders gathered in Madden, they looked ready to take on the world—or at least the 35km to 161km routes offered. The weather forecast? A scorching 33 degrees Celsius. Cyclists joked that they'd bring sunscreen by the gallon and might even fry an egg on their helmets.

The canola fields were in their full splendor, reflecting their yellow brilliance and blending in with the colours of our club jerseys.

After the rides, everyone gathered at the Madden Golf course lounge, seeking refuge from the sun and comparing seasonal tan lines that resembled abstract art.

With smiles on their faces, the riders knew they were part of something special. The Canola Fields Fondo is on its way to becoming a pedal-powered yearly phenomenon.
