Thursday June 22nd turned out to be a beautiful evening for the EVCC annual BBQ which was held at Edworthy Park.
There were 54 people in attendance who came to enjoy a smokie and share in friendship.
Brenda Kiley, the club's social director, with the assistance of Linda Reid and Nancy Baxter organized the evening. Bob Baxter was our friendly lumberjack who cut the wood and got the bbqs and firepit going. Evelyn Matthews rolled up her kitchen sleeves and helped with the food tables. Rafael Barredo so talentedly carved the juicy sweet watermelons for our dessert. Many others so eagerly helped out with the set up and especially the dismantling and clean up at the end as well as hauling all of the many containers and goods to the vehicles. Socials such as these organized through the cycle group create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere which is truly a bonus to being a member of EVCC.
