UPDATE 9/27: I've added pictures from Bill Stilwell. See the third reply which includes the pictures.
I have been on many EVCC rides that have been a lot of fun, but this one was probably numero uno! Great camaraderie, a spectacular display of autumn colours, and summer weather with blue skies, incredibly warm temperature, and light head wind to start made for a perfect outing. Then we finished it off outside under the brilliant sun with a tailgate party. I think that anonymous member quoted in my trip description was happy.
I want to thank all those spouses and friends and allowed their other halves to join us (convinced in Bill's case so a special thank you for that) and to some EVCC members who dropped by for the tailgate party afterwards (Bob and Ann H. and Jerry A.). And thanks to everyone who joined us for the fun ride.
Erika, Keith and Brenda added an extra 40 km by starting at Millarville and making their way a less direct route through Black Diamond to Turner Valley and returning the same way. Special mention goes to Fran for "accidentally" learning to ride over the cattle guards. And special mention also to Melissa for running a half marathon the day before and still having the energy to be a strong rider today. And to Brenda for repeating Patterson Hill 37 times yesterday for 3,000 metres of elevation and still having the energy to climb up the gorge (the bridge over the Sheep River) in both directions as well as doing the extra 40 km.
Special thanks goes to our official photographer, Ernie, who was also the official photographer of Bill's ride last Friday.
A few pictures will describe the day. The sheep and group pictures are courtesy of Ernie. Several other pictures of individuals are courtesy of Heather.
