Banff to Lake Louise and back-a classic ride on a great day

On Saturday, 11 cyclists set out with better weather to cycle 117 km to Lake Louise and return and, for the most part, the weather stayed that way. Only a little brief light drizzle was experienced by the second group of cyclists.

At the start, Keith Mountjoy realized he didn't have a jacket for the cool temperature and borrowed one from Brenda Prysko. I have included a picture of Keith modelling Brenda's jacket. As you can see, Brenda is no where near as tall as Keith, but Keith did manage to squeeze into it and wear it during much of the ride.

By the time the riders reached Castle Junction, the riders had self selected in the intense group and the relaxed group. We did meet up, albeit briefly, at the beer garden at the Lake Louise Ski Resort. We did have to collect our free beer and free T-shirts of course. (And anyone else can get their own free beer and T-shirt by riding to the ski resort up until September 19th!)

After the end of the ride, each group had it's own tailgate party; the later groups party truncated after 15 minutes when the rain arrived. But everyone had a great ride and it was a smoke-free day for a change.
