A beautiful day with light winds, warm (not yet hot) temperature, little traffic and scenic vistas made for a fun ride for the participants of the Tuesday ride (July 13). The ride was popular and with over 20 registered or on the wait list, we put everyone on the registration list and Sal Faoro graciously offered to become a second coordinator and Maria Saley did sweep. Many cyclists added the option to include the extra six km riding to the end of the paved Forestry Trunk Road (hwy 40) from the Richards Road intersection as well. There was a rest stop/lunch break during the ride along the Ghost River on the south side of the one-lane bridge crossing the river on Richards Road.
Afterwards, several cyclists braved the waters to wade or swim in Ghost Lake only to discover the water is quite warm this year. A tailgate social on the grass between the lake and parking lot capped a fun day.
