The weather forecast was quite reasonable for March 19, with forecast temps around 10c and winds 20 gusting to 40. Well, the forecast was wrong. As we rode west on Airport road I thought, this can't be right. I later checked the weather station at Springbank Airport, and sure enough we were battling 41 kph winds, gusting to 54. Riding west, it felt like a gale. Brutal. Well, heading directly into the wind was easy, as we were about to find out. Heading north with the cross winds was much worse. Hard to keep the bike in a straight line. Even the tandem. Those on light weight rigs must really be getting blown around. Most decided to pack it in after 40k, while 3 masochists (including Laurie, Andrea and me) endured another 15 km. Nice sunshine, nice group. Thanks to everyone for coming out and not complaining too much. Better weather next time, guaranteed. Cheers, Dave and Laurie
