Route description:

This is an out-and-back adventure, starting from Banff and cycling along the entire Bow Valley Parkway (1A) to Lake Louise Ski Resort

We will stop for a lunch break at the ski resort or bring your sandwich.  There are a number of eateries open if you wish to purchase a lunch.

There will be a very brief stop out and back at Castle Junction to regroup.

No sweep, limited stops.

This is meant to be a longer intermediate pace with few stops, the major stop being Lake Louise Skji Resort for lunch and very brief stops at Castle Junction.

If you run into trouble, you can use the Roam Bus to return to Banff.

PLEASE do not park at the lot at the train station. This is the overflow lot. We will meet in the main parking area to the east of the traffic circle.

Tailgate:  bring a chair & refreshment and we will gather for post ride chitchat.

Safety elements:

  • Consider carrying bear spray
  • There are short areas on 1A without cell service
  • Be self-sufficient; carry tools and be prepared to perform simple bike maintenance - flat tire
  • There will be no sweep. There is a brief stop at Castle Junction in both directions.
