Description:

It's another warm early-spring day and it's time for back-to-back spring spin (#'s 2 & 3). This is a ride meant for early season intermediate cyclists although anyone who isready for the distance and pace can join.

On this ride, the climbs are limited and we will be cycling more flattish though still undulating roads at a comfortable group pace. There are a limited number of steeper descents and climbs, particularly on the roads south of highway 552 though most riders will not find them overly difficult.

Although the posted ride is just over 55 km, riders wishing a shorter ride can cut out 13 kms by skipping the segment that goes south of highway 552 (via 64th St. and 80th St.) and/or skipping 4.5 km by skipping the segment that goes north of Dunbow Rd. (via 80th St. and 72 St.) and/or 5 km by skipping the spur over the Highwood River bridge.

There are no formal food and water stops or washroom facilities on this ride although the group will stop at all major intersections to regroup and to give our legs occasional rest breaks (as this is an early season ride). Quick snacking can be done at the regrouping stops.

The ride starts at the Heritage Pointe sports field parking lot. The washroom at the Heritage Pointe mall gas station and convenience store is available.

We can tailgate after the ride in the parking lot or go to Stockman's Lounge for food and liquid refreshments. This will be decided by the group after the ride.
