Registration

Five days cycling/Six nights Circuit in the Kootenay Valley with shorter and longer intermediate rides. 

This trip is a much loved classic of the EVCC and is being resurrected this year!  We will start riding together from the Kootenay Bay Ferry on Monday, September 7.  You will need to arrive in the area the night before, stay locally and ride to the ferry for the noon hour crossing. (TBD)

Book your own reservations for each night in the recommended accommodations or campgrounds.

Accommodations will be cabins, lodges, motels, hostels and will be approxomately $75 per night or camping at $40 - $50.

NOTE:  We will be returning to the start point at the end of the ride so you may want to book your 1st reservation again for September 11th.  Please make arrangements to leave your vehicle.

The Kootenay Fondo is on the 12th of Septembe and could be added onto this event. 

Trip Fee:  This ride is supported.  There will be a fee to cover the cost and expenses of a rental vehicle, our driver's accommodation, snacks and drinks.  As well there will be 2 group meals that we will prepare and share as some of the towns we will ride through have limited ammenities.  Participants will be expected to help wilth meal prep and cleaning up.

This trip is open to EVCC members only.

Accommodation Suggestions:

Sept 6, Sunday -  Pre Ride Accommodations2 choices depending how far you want to ride on Day 1.

1. Boswell: This starting location is 26 km from the ferry terminal.  Allow 2hours to arrive at the ferry, there are hills.

2. Crawford Bay:  Cabins and camiping with hot tub and bakery on site. (Bakery is open until 3 pm on Sunday and closed Monday)

This location is 6 km to the ferry but there are hills.  Allow 1 hour to cycle to the ferry.

Sept 11, Friday, Nelson - Balfour Ferry - Crawford Bay or Boswell

We will catch the noon ferry at Balfour.

Balfour -  33 km Plan 2 hours cycling

then back to Crawford Bay (6km) or Boswell (26km) where you started.

Optional Distance  - side trip from Harrop to Proctor off the small ferry 17km there and back. Total 50 to the ferry. Procter Village Cafe.

Plan 1 extra hour
