Join us for an EVCC social weekend centered around the Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo in Cranbrook BC, and will include extra club cycling. In past years, club members spend several days exploring the area on their bikes. We will be coordinating additional days of road and gravel cycling. You may stay as many or as few days as you like and do as many rides as you like.

REMINDER: You must register separately for the fondo with Cranbrook Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo. You must also register for each EVCC road ride and gravel ride you wish to participate in; this allows us to adjust coordinators as necessary. You must also pre-register and pay for the dinner social Sunday evening. There will be NO walk-ins to the dinner.
If you ride the Kootenays Fondo, you will need to register for that event. (See the link below.) The club has a limited 10% discount code only for club members so you will need to contact us for the code before completing your registration. When registering, indicate you are cycling with "EVCC" on the Fondo registration page. You do not need to register for the Fondo if you are not planning to ride the event (but you'll be missing out on a lot of fun!)
Whether you do the fondo or not, register and join us for a club dinner and social Sunday evening. A meal ticket is $35.
This is a self-pay event where participants pay for their own costs as they incur them (lodging, camping, food, etc.) If you are not planning on doing the Fondo but doing other rides, do not register for the fondo.
Many of us are staying at the Elizabeth Lake Lodge. Due to popularity, we understand the the lodge is now fully reserved. There are other opportunities for places to stay, including the other hotels and motels in the area. For example, the Fondo sponsor St Eugene resort, located right at the start location, has a special fondo rate.
You may also stay at other accommodations around Cranbrook, including the nearby Jimsmith Lake campground.
We will be socializing in the evenings around the campfire and barbecues at the Elizabeth Lake Lodge.
Heather and I will be posting road rides on this site on days before/after the Fondo (Friday/Sunday/Monday). We will be coordinating the road rides. Bob Westlake will be coordinating a gravel ride as well.
If you are planning to join the EVCC this weekend, please register so we know who is interested.
Book your accommodation (and the Fondo) early to ensure you have a spot. The lodge will fill up and the Fondo has indicated that registration is limited to 500 and registration is well ahead of last year.
