Urban Hike-Bowness Park West to Valley Ridge 6 km New Year Hike

Urban HIKE - Moderate

Distance: 6 km

Elevation Gain: 100 metres.  

We will meet near the washrooms at Bowness Lagon at 11:00am and walk west to climb 120 steps under the Stony bridge and then hike along the trail in the woods towards the Golf course and then return via the paved cycle track and back to the bridge where, at the bottom, we turn right and walk in the Douglas Fir Sanctuary and then return and have coffee\lunch at the cafe in Bowness Park and watch the skaters (if there is any ice left) This should take about 3 to 4 hours.  Not a fast pace.  Bring icers and poles.  

The tree in the sanctuary are well behaved and don;t wander around.
