Routes on the Shuswap Cycle Touring guide

Some routes on  RideWithGPS

The routes are paved and appropriate for road bikes, although some of the pavement is rough (perhaps a k or so of gravel) so we would recommend at little more tire.  Ebikes welcome.

Basing out of Salmon Arm British Columbia,  possibility of booking into a motel in (Salmon Arm) and getting one of the kitchen suites.  Possibility of meeting up with Gord's group in the evenings.

Arrive on evening of Thursday May 12 and checking out on the Monday May 16.  Four days of cycling.

Friday: Drive to Haig-Brown Park and Ride and start out with Gord's group (but at a slower pace) and cycle along same route but stopping at Lee Creek and Scotch Creek and turn round at Celista.  67 km

Saturday: instead of Century Ride leave at 9:30 am from Sorrento (farmers' market in morning) and cycle to Wild Rose Bay (this is the opposite side of the lake).  Beach access.  50 km

Sunday:  We will join Gord and Jenny's group and drive to Enderby and Ride the Enderby to Mable Lake Rd, along the Shuswap River (Ride 28 Easy/Moderate 70km/670m) Out and Back. Few facilities on this route because we are riding it previous to the May long weekend.  Bring a good supply of food and water.    Lunch at the public boat launch at Mabel Lake.

Monday:  Salmon Arm to Yankee Flat. 64 km loop.  One long hill 5% for 6.5km.  Interesting Douglas Fir Forest and eroded lava flow at Mt. Ida.  Rolling farmland-route follows Salmon River.  64 km.

Tuesday:  Drive home.

Participants are responsible for makinga their own accommodation and transportation arrangements.  We are cycling with 8 people from the Rocky Mountain Ramblers.
