MTB RIDE - LEVEL : Intermediate physically, Easy Technically

Coordinator: Gordon Gilbertson and Jenny Earle

Distance: 50k

Pace:  Moderate

Elevation Gain: 1073m

Meeting at the Little Elbow parking lot trailhead and ready to ride at 9:30am.

A second iteration of the Elbow loop.  This is a good day out on the mountain bike. Most of the route is not technical and the exceptions are few enough that walking them won't add much time.   That being said it is 50k with no easy road access so the bike should be mechanically sound and you should be up for a long moderate effort.

Happy to discuss if you are not sure.

Ebikes are good as long as they have the range.

Route

https://www.trailforks.com/route/elbow-loop/

The route is up the Little Elbow, then back down the Big Elbow.  Generally easy climbing to the Romulus campground then more sustained climbing to the pass.

From the pass we descend towards Tombstone campground and the big Elbow (but not quite all the way down).   Up to this point we will be on Gravel road with the occasional loose bit and some washout.

Turning down valley we switch to generally smooth singletrack, but with some steepish roller coaster sections.  There are a couple of short more technical sections.

Nearing the Big Elbow campground things widen back out and flatten out.
