Route description:

A classic mountain ride for advanced roadies who like to climb hills with spectacular scenery.  Fun facts: This is the highest paved pass in Canada, reaching a height of 2,206 m. Our parking spot is at a bend on the Highwood River, which originates from the pass. 

Parking and meeting spot: Highwood River Provincial Recreation Day Use Area, located on Highway 541, SW of Longview. 

Time:

• Arrive between 9:00 and 9:15 a.m.
• Pre-ride huddle and safety moment at 9:15
• Wheels rolling at 9:30 a.m.  
• Out of respect for those who arrive on time, we won't wait for latecomers.

Social elements:

• Longer snack stop and photo op at the top
• Apres-ride social at appropriate social gathering distance in the day use area following our ride. BYO LC&R (lawn chairs and refreshments)
