This is a long loop, mostly on quiet roads but there is a 7km stretch along Hwy 22 (mostly downhill) and traffic to navigate through Crowfoot, Bowness and Cochrane.

We will start outside Good Earth Cafe in Crowfoot (please park half way between Good Earth and Marks) at 9am. That means wheels rolling at 9am. Once we get out of Crowfoot, we will drop down to Bowness and follow the bike lane to our first climb, COP Hill. Once up top, we will take Old Banff Coach Road down to SpringBank Airport Road, with two optional "Artists View" loops that add close to 5km and 50m. While we head east on Springbank Airport Road, there are two more optional loops that will add 15km and one good climb. We have 7km of wide shoulder on Hwy 22 before we take the back route into Cochrane for a rest stop at 50km (70km if you did the extra loops) at Good Earth, Cochrane. After our rest, we will climb Glen Eagles and take 262 to BearsPaw, with a couple more optional loops on Grey Way and Church Ranches, before we drop down through Royal Oak to close the loop back at Good Earth, Crowfoot. Apres ride food and beverages to be determined at the end of the ride (coffee, beer and food is right there, with a dozen options within 1km).

While this is a longer ride, we will maintain a moderate pace, in this friendly, no drop (or wait periodically) ride. We will wait at tops of hills and at major turns for the group to reassemble. Be prepared for plenty of climbing. A couple sections have more traffic (especially Hwy 22). There are some wonderful views on this route.

Please point out all road debris, potholes, gravel and signal stops and turns to other riders. No pace line or overlapping wheels please. We stop for all stop signs and red lights.  See you there!
