Signal Hill and Mount Royal 37

This ride is modified from last year to reduce hill-climbing to one short elevation.

The ride describes a circle around South Central Calgary. Starting from North Glenmore Park, the route goes through the communities of Lakeview and Glamorgan, and after passing through the Signal Hill shopping center, climbs to Batallion Park, and crosses a bridge to Optimist Park. After that the route takes us on quiet streets through the neighborhoods of Westgate and Wildwood.  We explore Mount Royal with its chateaus and trees. We return through Altadore back to North Glenmore Park. The route is mostly on bike friendly streets; the couple of short pathways we encounter are lightly used.

The ride will have regrouping at intervals and a sweep. Bring lunch, and a refreshment for the finish. Bring a mask and gloves in case of a flat or accident. We will follow Covid-19 recommendations.

Approach North Glenmore Park heading south along Crowchild Trail as far as you can go. Parking Area C lies around a curve, close to the Southeast corner of the park (see https://www.calgary.ca/CSPS/Parks/Documents/Locations/north-glenmore-east.pdf?noredirect=1). Porta-potties are in the vicinity. Please arrive 15 minutes before start.
