First time riders and "old timers" are invited to attend the Primer. We will present information about the three-day ride that will be of interest to participants of the upcoming GT on the weekend of Friday May 24, 25 and 26.
Connie Abrey and Ross Taylor, experienced GT riders will speak about how you can prepare for your ride touching on topics such as training, clothing and equipment.
Mike (the bike) Sekella will be our volunteer mechanic on the ride and at the Primer he will speak about getting your bike ready and what to carry in your kit. He will address what repairs he can and cannot address during the weekend and how to avoid spending time with him as he fixes an avoidable issue.
Don Hollingshead will introduce the Club's membership in Ride with GPS and using the turn-by-turn map of the GT that you can download and use on your phone. He will be available after the program for assistance. Please download the free Ride With GPS app onto your phone prior to the Primer.
Sue Fowler, GT Ride Coordinator, will speak to other areas of the GT including luggage, registration, meals and rules of the road. Finally, you will have lots of opportunity to ask questions of the speakers and other riders.
